Edits by Erin

Hi, I'm Erin!
I've been immersed in the world of books
my entire life, spending . . .
25 years as an editor of
fiction and nonfiction,
8 years as an editor at Big Five
traditional publishing houses in
New York City,
5years as the executive editor
at a renowned hybrid publishing
house, and
45+ years* as a woman
obsessed with books.
*give or take a few months

Are you ready to take your writing
from good to great?
Do you want to find an agent, publish your book with a traditional or hybrid publishing house, or even self-publish?
I can help.
As a book editor with decades of experience, my specialties include
-
editing and refining proposals and manuscripts for maximum impact with readers, agents, and publishers;
-
giving honest and thorough editorial feedback for fiction and nonfiction manuscripts;
-
collaborating as a book coach;
-
offering real-world publishing advice and options;
-
making your manuscript as compelling, engaging, and polished as possible.
Handing over your writing---"your baby"---to someone else to read and edit can be nerve-racking, but I'm not here to judge;
Think of me as your partner. We share the same goal: to take your writing to the next level and make it the best it can be.
I love what I do and give editorial feedback in positive and constructive ways. Check out the following video to learn more about my experience and why I enjoy editing so darn much!

I've worked as an editor at these publishing houses
and imprints in New York City.

What authors say about working with me...
Erin's editing skills are superb. She's professional and speedy, with a sharp eye for detail and story structure. I give her my highest recommendation.”
—Lori Nelson Spielman,
New York Times best-selling author of The Life List (now a featured movie on Netflix),
Sweet Forgiveness, and
The Star-Crossed Sisters of Tuscany
Erin has always been a full partner who troubleshoots a narrative; her insight is about so much more than refining text. She takes charge of the editorial process and doesn't just respond to questions. I was fortunate to have found Erin on an earlier book and have been wise to return to her, especially in an increasingly competitive marketplace.”
—Eric Dezenhall, author of
Best of Enemies, False Light, and other fiction and nonfiction books
Erin has marvelous story instincts. She possesses an amazing ability to discern the forest in my writing despite all the trees and unlock the full potential of the narrative.”
—Harry Hunsicker, author of
The Life and Death of Rose Doucette and former executive vice president of the Mystery Writers of America
